10 years old. Spent 99% of her life outside. She has integrated into the household nicely.Except...when I bring her into the house after being toileted and the other husky is there, she attacks her. They do not hurt each other...just noise and frightening...I handle it...I calm them down.Does anyone know why this is happening? The old husky is a good dog calm and loving yet she explodes!!!

I think that, although they are in a group setting for sledding, for some reason, Husky's in general are temperamental about having their space invaded or threatened. My Husky is the sweetest dog in the world but has turned into Cujo on dogs at the dog park a few times- she doesn't fight to injur the other dog because it usually ends just as quickly as it begins. It is, however, very frightening.

What many people don't realize is that dogs get over their differences MUCH faster than humans do. My husky has played with dogs that it seemed like she was going to kill, 4 minutes prior. I'm sure they'll be fine together again (I'm assuming that wasn't the first time they met and they have been socialized with other dogs succcessfully).

Maybe for your own peace of mind, you should separate them when they aren't being supervised until you know they've worked out their differences. Things will go smoothly when the alpha dog is established. This requires your help too. When you can tell which dog is trying to be the alph, you must treat it so. Feed it first, let it go through doorways before the other one.

it could be that the older dog is trying to be the dominate dog. you could make sure that the younger dog is not right in the door way when the older dog come in from outside.
