I was curious to to know about what you usually wear when receiving a massage in thailand (phuket or Bangkok )?

B. Underwear
C. Thong or swimsuit

The key is what type of massage you ask for for. If you ask for "Thai Massage" ("Nu-ut Thai") in local language, you will almost always be given pyjamas to change into. Usually, you'll be left to change in the somewhat private massage cubicle, with the curtains closed, but the therapist (about 80% are female) might just stay there. It is normal to wear underwear under the PJs, and rude to let her see you naked. The massage is given on a mat on the floor.
If you ask for oil massage, you can be in your underwear, but generally will be naked. Oil massage costs a little more and is usually one hour, instead of two for most Thai Massage. They often use lots of oil, so think twice about wearing anything.
On a beach, you wear a bathing suit.
For a sex massage... well you can figure that one out.

If you are receiving a traditional Thai massage you should wear loose comfortable clothes, made from natural fibers, like you were gonna work out.
For Swedish massage you wear nothing.

depends on what kind of massage. if its a bathtub massage with extra service(try Cupidy Club in Bangkok;))..its A. if its a thai ancient massage i think B will be alright.

Well, if you are looking for just the "regular massage" in Phuket, Mine has always been in my underwear. Also, they have massage stations on the beach (which i love) and you leave your bathing suit on. The female masseuse has always asked me to untie the back of my bikini top when laying on my belly. Get one, though--they are heaven.

For traditional Thai massage, you will be given a set of clothes to change from your outer wear. Other than that, it will be up to your discretion.

Almost every place will give you clothing to change into... but it will depend on the masseuse and the type of massage as well
