We're not, and please don't quote the bible to me, we are far more intelligent but that doesn't mean we are superior, when catholics and other religions say we are, i believe god is offended, he could be saying "How dare you believe that you are better to my animals". Its crap, we are animals, just very dominant.

No you get it mixed up, I KNOW WE ARE FAR MORE INTELLIGENT, THAT DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE MORE SUPERIOR.

We are animals, down to our classification as great apes, which puts things in perspective. I was raised around animals, domestic and wild, and I never saw any division between us and them. We had cats, dogs, horses, goats, poultry, sheep, rabbits, wild mice, muskrats, lynx and bears around us all the time. I had a lynx of my own for a few years, she showed up in the barn to have kittens and became tame over a period of months. When you spend time with animals, you learn that you are not superior to them - you're not even higher up on the food chain unless you have a gun. Run into a grizzly one day and see how superior you feel. The First Nations here teach that animals are to be respected, and there is a line that you don't cross. You don't invade their territory, you don't become overly familiar with them, you don't go looking to kill them, and they won't harm you. Animals have thoughts, feelings, and moods, and they get depressed, and they get stressed, and they grieve, just like we do. It's easy for us to say that isn't true, but when you spend enough time with them, you see it. I've got a rabbit sitting right beside me, and you can bet he has feelings.

God spelled backwards is dog.
I love my dog and I miss the ones that have died
I wish i had a human friend who would be as loyal as my dog.
they may even be with us in heaven..that is the belief of some people...its a nice thought that I would be with my :"real friends again:" they were so special
Yes, to answer your question I think the dog is our special friend because he was the first animal that was domesticated and my life would not be as complete if he was not a part of it...also my Wife feels the same way...
I am a Christian too and whats that got to do how I feel about animals?

I agree with you. Human beings are animals. Period. Our form of communication is not superior to how other animals communicate. How can we judge our abilities to other species? Is there really such a thing as a "best" animal. Every species on the earth has disadvantages and advantages to help survive in this world. Yet, we all share a single motive. To find a mate and reproduce. All animals (including humans) have unique and special skills. We should have more respect for animals.

You want an answer but not a bible answer, Well you are on this site & you will get a bible answer, if need be, then go to another site. Gen.1:26 God said let man have dominion over all & Dominion means to Rule, control, & do you want more.

Animals are more at peace with themselves. I wish I could be a dog and be fussed over all day, but I have to listen to the views of bigots and get depressed and do hundreds of things I don't want to do.
I don't believe humans are necessarily more intelligent either. From a human vantage point, yes. But you can't apply human standards to other animals and animals can still communicate with each other - presumably they have their own forms of communication, which we can't understand - so we are "stupid" to them.
I agree with you. Animals behave much better than us and we are treating them like ****.

I think it's the other way around. You meet a grizzly in the woods. You do not have a gun. You and an angry bear...
Remember, you're far more intelligent, but right now, it's one animal versus another.

The Bible (sorry) indicates that we are far more valuable than even the sparrows that jump off a wall that God is able to see each time that happens.

Because they like to believe they can abuse and neglect animals, even the wild ones, so believing animals have no souls they think theyre off the hook from being judged for killing one, it sounds cruel but i know most hunters are christians, and the ones that hunt for sport (pleasure and not food) are also christian.
This may sound really strange, but im a fox in a humans body, and it pains me to see how cruel humans are, to each other and to nature's children.
to the comment about animals being more intelligent:
Actually ive seen my beagle pick up a book off the shelf (she pawed it off the shelf),put her paw on it, and look up at me, I yelled at her one day and she picked up a book about anger management from the shelf, im dead serious.
Ive heard parrots can recognize colors, shapes etc. also, how can you say honestly that an animal is less intelligent than a human when there havent been any IQ tests on animals? What about dolphins? theyre supposedly smarter than humans

We dare say this because it is a truth my friend,Animals are much lower in the realm of creation than us,you have devalued by your comments the intelligent complexites of the human being.
I will not use up the entire page with examples but the most obvious one is that which you have already demonstrated, you have the ability to read and write.
