Genie is the English term for the Arabic جن (jinn). In pre-Islamic Arabic mythology and in Islam, a jinni (also "djinni" or "djini") is a member of the jinn (or "djinn"), a race of creatures. The word "jinn" literally means anything which has the connotation of concealment, invisibility, seclusion and remoteness

Is the knowledge that the modern world is ignorant about it, however depends what is your concept about Jinn (Spirit in English) but I strongly suggest you and those will answer or have interested in this topic to read the book "The World Of Jinns" by Jamal Zarabozo - it is very interesting and will free your mind!

A jinn (actually it's more often spelled djinn) is a genie (the more technical term for it). If you want more detail, read "Arabian Nights."

they live amungst us but we are not supposed to interact in any way. there are good ones and bad ones. there ar so called magicians who actually summon them, note that no good djinn will reveal itself to a human. they will do things for you, but they always get something in return even if they dont mention it, but once u ask it for something it will never leave you alone. most summoners die early or are struck with bad circumstances. it is noted in all human history not only arab, but described differently. they were easier to notice then. most of the worlds power and fame fules on them. it is considered a myth in most modern countries, but in some countries it is strictly illegal to own any summoning books or equipment. could go on and on but my advice, don't get urself into this kind of stuff.
