is just an unfertilized chicken,as the chicken obviously needs the cockerel to fertilize their eggs,so basically, they are ovulating,we are in essence eating their periods...yuk! i haven't touched an egg since i sat and thought about this couple months ago..

You are eating an ovum when you eat an egg, not a period. Chickens do not have periods. The matter lost during a period includes the ovum, and also endometrium, which is the lining of the womb. The endometrium is there to protect the ovum as is develops. We have periods because that ovum has not been fertilized. As such we have no use for the endometrium, which is then shed, the process of which is referred to as a period. Therefore, an egg is an unfertilized ovum and not a period in any way, shape or form.

Yes, I realized that years ago, and I still eat them.
Now, did you know that the very very thin film of skin you see when you shell a boiled egg, is the strongest natural material known to man for its size? True, true.
Also, did you know that if you hold an egg with a finger on the little part, and your thumb on the fattest part, you cannot crush it? Even if you were the strongest man in the world, its uncrushable. Yep.
And don't git me started about them floating in water (boiled vs. unboiled). Oh that darn egg... So delicious. So versitile.

Another eggy fact for you. Apparantley if you stand a peel, hard boiled egg on the top of a glass bottle and put a lit match in the bottle, the egg will get sucked in.
And, as my friend who told me the above fact says, when you have had a boiled egg, turn the shell over and put a hole in it so that witches dont float away in it!!! (I think she needs help!!)

ovulation is not the same as menstruation - they are the opposite ends of the cycle...and if you don't like the idea of eating eggs, I guess you wouldn't like the idea of caviar either
