We have so many different religions... ultimately we all believe in God, so why fight about how one believes in him or why one believes him. We all pray to god

If we sincerely learn to worship the One True God, we will realize the Divine Unity, we will easily live in peace with all other people.

I think I understand your premise. The distinction that a lot of people will make in answering is that God, Allah, etc. are not the same God so this doesn't work. I agree that it can be asked " If we all believe in a higher power why are there so many arguments?"

Christianity is different from Islam because Jesus Christ is part of the former and Mohammed is part of the latter. Take these away, and who is to say the God isn't the same? I agree that the belief in God is all the same, it's just how you get there that is different (i.e. what religion you choose).

Just because different religions refer to the higher power with a different name does not mean it is necessarily a different God. This could perhaps simply been perpetuated by religions throughout the centuries.

No we dont!
Buddah was not God
Allah was not God
Jesus was not God
and I could go on an on

All professed to be a teacher of Gods law But those laws differ depending on location culture and economy.

I don't even believe there is a God, but the concept is pleasant . But some think that their God is better than anyone elses and of course he is White, rather than black or brown and then there are the chosen ones, Gods own people cast out to wander around the desert like fools looking for a promised land for 40 years that they eventually stole from the caanenites. How can you believe a God would be so stupid as to make a promise he could not keep unless peopel were slaughtered and overcome ?

Go forth to the land of Caanan and see how strong they are, observe their ability to defend themselves, see what riches are available and arm yourself to take what is rightfully yours....

Yeh right thats the words of a real God I think it must have been Mars the God of War

because when God speaks to you in your heart you know that your religion is the true religion. This is the job of the Holy Spirit and if you have to ask this question then I can understand your confusion.
as you believe so shall you receive

Do we? and even if we do all believe in 'god' does the word 'god' mean the same thing to all of us?
I think with respect there are too many unsported assumptions in this question.

Ever heard of Taoism? Zen Buddhism? Advaita Vedanta?

No. Nope. And... duh?

We don't all "believe" in the same god.

Get a freakin clue ...

No, we do not all pray to the same God. Zeus is not Allah, Allah is not Jesus, and Jesus sure as heck isn't Odin.

I'm a polytheist, don't tell me all my Gods are one in the same; and do not insult me and other religions by saying that all Gods are one.

We don't fight because of our beliefs. We fight because we insist on dominating others and then scream blue murder if they retaliate.
