first thing: a paint sprayer will produce atomized paint that will float in the air and circulate through the heating and cooling system and the air, causing grief for days and even months with paint dust everywhere, some of it will still be wet and will adhere to things that you didn't wrap with plastic.the over spray will travel to the far ends of the house. spraying is ok if you have an empty house and you cover everything that is not to be painted...everything.
second thing: so if brush and rolling is your other and only choice you can ease your job by painting out of a half filled 5 gallon bucket with a roller grid. for the roller cover don't use anything smaller than a 1/2 inch nap roller. use 3/4 to 1 inch nap for heavy texture, 1/2 inch for smooth to medium texture. use a roller cover made of 50% polyester 50% wool. these things will allow you to have more paint on each visit to the bucket and greater and more effective application to the wall. all this adds up to speeding up the work with less fustration and better looking results.
3:purchase a quality brush (Purdy or Wooster 2 1/2 " angled dyed nylon).it will lasted a life time if cared for properly and it will hold and distribute alot more paint. this can not be stressed enough. when cutting in at inside corners always look ahead of the leading edge of the brush hairs by 2" and you will have better results(not professional, but it will help) remember you look down the road when you drive and you go straight, look at the edge of your hood or behind you when you drive and you go all over the place.
4: i can go on and on but these are the best time savers and quality enhancing points i can share with you .
