I'm pleased to see that there has been a fairly recent upsurge in environmental concern on the part of many Christian denominations. It's encouraging to see this, as opposed to the attitude that the Earth is here for our irresponsible use.

BTW, Ent Wife - why do you care WHY I work to save this beautiful green planet on which we all live? Would you actually oppose groups with the same goals as yours because they have a different religious perspective on/motivation for saving our planet?

Would anyone be that petty?

What do you mean supposedly? Religion does in a way embrace environmentalism as God directed man to take care of the Earth.

Sure, you are definitely right.
All men need to wisely preserve and intelligently beautify the earth as the best way to glorify God.

Under the guise of being good stewards, yes.
Under the guise of worshiping the creation rather than the Creator, no.
