I can't describe it in detail because kids come to this place, but it involved twins, a quart of olive oil, and a hamster.

Having my advisor have the honesty and nerve to tell me that I did not want to get married, and that I was cut out for a PhD, an MD, a JD, higher academic and professional pursuits. We lived in a rather conventional country and my family was pressuring me for marriage, like I went to college only to be a better prospect. I had in the meantime been accepted to graduate school at Columbia and Georgetown, with a scolarship offer at Georgetown.

having a roomate my freshmen year who was so different than me in every way from music to study habits and sleep habits. Yet, we became friends and she introduced me to uh, the party college stuff even though most of what goes on is not my scene. One night I came "home" and there was an orange scrunchie on the dorr knob:secret code for I'M Getting busy right now!! It is interesting sharing a tiny room with two twin beds and your roommate has a guy sleep over in the bed with her.

I felt like I finally found something I had searched for my whole life but didn't know it.
