So something like this should be legal, currently: http://img5.ranchoweb.com/images/armynavy/dscn8294.jpg

The image you show would only be legal if all the badges were removed. Wearing it as shown could be construed as impersonating a Sgt in the RAF. Historical uniforms (ie not currently issued) would be a different matter.

Also, on a personal note, if I saw someone wearing that with jeans, trainers - obvious civvy clothing - then I would regard them as a bit of an idiot. It would look ridiculous.

I dont know if the law has been repealed in the UK but many years ago I arrested a man under the Army Act for wearing what appeared to be ministry of defence property.A RAF jacket in this section of the act it is for the person found in possession to prove they have not stolen it which is of course opposite to usual burden of proof in UK law,as I say this act may no longer apply.

Its fine to wear it in the UK - the RAF relaxed the rulings about wearing uniform on civvy street a few years back xxx

i think its fine but watch out for the ex RAF guys and the ones who served in the war....they take offence of people wearing items of clothing such as the on your suggesting as a fashion item or if you haven't served!

you are OK as long as you are not trying to impersonate a member of the RAF . though i wouldn't do it my self . if i liked the uniform that much i would sign up
