Your cat isn't spoiled - just terrified. That's perfectly natural & your vet shouldn't have said that to you. I had a feral cat who litterally climbed the wall in the vet's surgery; pee, stuff scattered, etc. I was mortified, but the vet was very understanding. I suggest you get the cat used to being in a carrier & used to being handled. As already suggested, a towel &/or a pillowcase is a good idea for restraint. Before you bring the cat to the vet, explain that she is likely to freak out & ask what they suggest. They may give you a mild calming tablet for her. Make sure that you give her a treat & lots of cuddles after the trip to make up for the unpleasant experience.

The vet told you that she was too spoiled????? First of all, that isn't professional. I would be taking your cat to a different vet. Your cat was probably just scared to death and stressed out from going to the clinic for the first time. It isn't because she is too spoiled. There is nothing you can do to teach her to behave. You can't really train a cat to do that...they are too independent. The only thing I can tell you is that the more you take your cat to the vet, the more she will get used to it.

Start by getting her use to other people touching her. Do as a vet would do. I have a 2yr old cat (Jimmy) that could really care less, he sits in my lap to get his toe nails cut without me holding him down. But get her use to other people and it might also just be the exam table that she is scared of. Try taking a small blanket the next time and laying it down on the table first then put you cat on it. Or you can offer the vet some help. It is comforting to the pets to know that you are there. But get her socialized with others and make sure your cat knows that this behavior will not be tolerated. Good luck!

Well, she is not spoiled, she was just too scared! 7 months old is too late for the first vet visit. She should have gone there at 2 months and then again at 3 months for her shots. Anyway, all you can do now is take her to the vet and other places more often to get used to it, or just put up with her behaviour at the vet.

cats are easily stressed if you take them out of their regular home/routine and each cat reacts different to this stress.
some cats get so scared they don't do anything but want to stay in their cage you bring them in. And others will feel so threatened they will freak out and "defend" themselves, which would be by attacking the vet.
This vet of yours should very well know this and I don't think it was appropriate for him to say that is is your fault.

Find another Vet ..That was a stupid reply to you..Your kitten/cat could have been given something to calm her before the trip.!. Cats and some dogs don,t enjoy traveling and get nervous and sometimes sick. If you do eep this vet ,Bring this < to his attention .Now that he knows how much she weighs he shouldn,t have a problem giving you this before her next visit with instructions on how & when to give..
I would be offended if a vet/tech said this to me ! Of Corse My Pet Is Spoiled...It,s a Pet...It,s MY PET..Hey Doc How do you treat Your pets or your patients when the owner isn,t there ?

Get her used to other people and hold her quite firmly like she's at the vets regularly. With a bit of training she should get better in situations she doesn't like.

If he acts up, provide him a thump on the pinnacle, if he extremely acts up and act loopy, grab a bucket of water and dumb it on him, that'll cool him down. because he does not have his claws anymore, his basically weapon is his tooth, placed on some thing difficult and permit him chew to his coronary heart content textile. as quickly as he properly-knownshows out it HURTS him to chew you, he will provide up. The thunk on the pinnacle and water will additionally alert him authentic speedy that a million) you're no longer petrified of him and a pair of) you will no longer tolerate such habit. guy could in no way be petrified of dogs and cat, no longer as quickly as we are lots larger than they are and that they've not got the numbers on us like they do interior the wild. And for people who say it extremely is propose. sure it extremely is yet difficult love is greater effective than leaving him on the shield. along with his historic past, i will assure his getting placed down. thankfully from what I examine, he remains youthful and might nevertheless be skilled. solid success.
