I have an old BT Openworld email address - which I only access through Mail2web. I hate to leave it collecting spamn, but don't know how to close it down.

Help please anyone?

If u want to close your BT Openworld account completely then visit http://www.btopenworldbenefits.com/closeaccount/index2.php

Otherwise send them a request at
http://www.btopenworld.com/mail

Alternatively, if u wish to keep ur options open then opt for a workaround: go to that account via webmail, set up a filter that forward ALL incoming mail to the DELETE folder (or delete permanently an future incoming mail). This way, u could re-instate this email account one day should u change ur mind. I did somethng similar, a year later the junk mail have been reduced a substantial amount n the account became usable again.

If it is part of a dial up internet you no longer use it should be automatically closed down after a period of time of not being used.

You could contact BT and ask them to close it down but if you never use it then there should be no problem in leaving it collecting spam.

Probably not very helpful, but try phoning them. I'm sure there's a way.
