i have quite short hair..so does my husband. he pays 7.50 for a haircut and i pay 36 pounds...why is there such a big difference in cost between men's and women's hair..i find it really annoying!! - anyone know the reason?

I am sure that if you go to the same spot that your husbands goes to cut his hair, they would charge you the same. However we woman like to go to the "salon" and get pampered there.
Sure it is 7.50 for the cut.......but you are paying 29 extra pounds for coming into a salon! It is just "because" that Salon's can just charge alot more..... There is already an understanding that woman will pay extra for looking good

Ps: It goes for every profession...... Have your husband go to the mechanic to get his car fix and get the bill ....Then you try it.... and see if they amount the same...chances are, you will be paying double to triple...... And you would pay "just because" ..... Sucks to be us!!

Because women get style cuts. And a man's haircut is just basic.
Although they may look the same, they are cut in different techniques.
And as someone above said, most men don't get their hair shampooed and blowdried. Women do.

It's the woman curse!!! No, Just kidding. A lot of things are more for women. Maybe if your getting more than just a cut. Wash and style how knows? And if you two are going to the same place ask the person who is doing the cutting.

Because there are way more many styles with women's than men's. And the process is wash, condition, cut, dry, and style. That is usually what the is involved in the price.

I prefer hair which is shoulder length or longer, As well as since that men who like females are more often then not right, they like long hair because it looks more feminine, as most guys have short hair.
