My hair gets very oily at the roots and dry everywhere else. If I use a shampoo for oily hair, the rest dries up and is unmanagable. If I use a moisturizing shampoo, my hair is so limp and weighed down after a few hours I can't do anything with it. Any suggestions on how to deal with this problem?

That's a toughie ! I say use a diluted shampoo for oily hair (mix the shampoo with water so it's not so drying, it's also less harmful) ... and ONLY apply it to the oily roots, not the whole hair and scalp.

And when you rinse, let the shampoo run down the length of your hair, don't apply shampoo again.

When it's been dried, "oil" the ends of your hair. I like to use a tiny bit of olive oil, but a lot of girls swear by coconut oil. Apply a tiny bit to your hands, rub together and smooth over the hair length.

I personally have very dry hair at my tips, and the oiling routine has helped me no end !

Your combination hair might also be an age thing. It might be something you eventually grow out of. when i was a teen my hair was oily, and when i hit 19 it just dried up like mad.

Hope that helps you. Good luck.

Hmm, not sure but I would try using the shampoo for oily hair and then apply a styling moisturizer to the parts that are usually dry.

Apply the shampoo for oily hair at your roots only! Then apply conditioner "everywhere else". If U put conditioner at the roots too, you'll maker things worse.

Good Luck!!
