I don't think gossip can be good in any ways. Some time people exaggerate or make things up when then gossip, and this is really bad.

Gossiping is for people who have nothing better to do or talk about in their lives that they have to find something else to occupy their minds with. And in order to make the gossips more interesting, people will add more information and exaggerate the story.

Gossip amoung staff members is a good thing up to a certain point. It gives everyone a little imposed, self imposed power that they don't have necessarily on the job. But, be careful, you can cross a line which hurts or destroys co-workers, bosses, and agents or salespeople, suppliers or the business itself which is destructive to everyone...keep it on a good level with pros and cons included in your conversation.
For everyday living, just be careful, there again, everyone wants the power of the words, but to be hateful, destructive or hurtful for your own gain for that 'moment' in time will do you more harm than you really think you have support for.

YES because it entertains you for all of 2 minutes! if your lucky! NO! because 99.9% of the time there is no truth in what is being gossipped about, Think about the person/s being talked about and what damage that could be done to their reputation, career or life etc all because of narrow minded ppl that have nothing better to do with their time than talk about someone else! or is just because of jealousy that they are not being talked about or that the other person has a better life? HONESTLY gossip is a load of garbage! ITS ENTERTAINING UNTIL SOMEONE GETS HURT BY IT!

i like to hear gossip and try to avoid doing it though. it's fun to listen and find out how people view each other and gain some insights. but i only gossip to a few people who are very close to me. cause gossip sometimes or usually are more negative sides of people and i don't feel very appropriate to talk behind their backs.

There is good gossip, example follows: "Did you hear about Sally? she's expecting again, #3. She announced it Tuesday. Mary wants to give her a shower, but Sally says she doesn't need one, she has lots of everything. So, we are going to take up a collection, and give her the money to buy whatever she needs, I bet the crib has seen better days, after her two boys got through with it."
