The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No man is ever alone with a (non-mahram) women but the Shaytaan is the third one present.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2165; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 1758)

This means that Satan will come in your head and make you do things that you should not do. Like pre material sex. The rules of Islam stop the problem before it starts.

I think you've got it wrong! There are a lot of Christians who do not approve dating. That does not make Christians dissapprove dating! The same is true with respect to Budhists, Hindus, Jews, etc., etc. and none could be termed as Budhists, Hindus orJews dissapprove dating!

The whole thing is based upon and derived from individuals' culture and or individual families, full stop! Hence, it is found more or less in certain groups of people, region, religion or ethnicity.

Muslims dont approve because they believe you're either married or your not. When you date, you're in a pre-maritial relationship which may lead to things which are also not allowed such as unsafe sex and in Islam, the only right way to have "do it" is when you're married because there's nothing that stops you in marriage.. you're completely free..

ultimately when you date and you "do it", its forbidden because well... it's not allowed... and that's true in a lot of societies nowadays anyway... especially when you're still young..

i hope that answered your question.. i think it's just a matter of whats wrong and whats right. it's more of the CONSEQUENCES of dating of it than the actual dating itself.. so yerrr

=]

p.s. just wanted to add that not all muslims dissaprove of dating strictly.. some have trust in their kids and some beleive it wont do any harm... like alot of people already said, it's a matter of what you believe and the culture you're from..

Whats the point in pretending and testing each other out while all the marriages are gonna end up the same way for you. So instead enter a wedlock and save all that time you are currently spending with your hands.
