There is nothing wrong with litter training your dog. However, you will have to use something else besides cat litter.
Really, it's the same approach you would use as housebreaking. First you get the appropriate size container for your pooch. There are pee pads that are available at your local pet supply store. Line the box with a pee pad. You'll have to keep putting him in the box and telling him to go potty. The first time he goes in the box, praise him! Once he knows where and what he is suppose to be doing, you can use shredded news paper instead of pee pads.
Once he associates the box and going to the bathroom, you should be able to move the box to a place that is right for your household. Just don't forget to show him where you moved it to!

1. Design the environment so that it is difficult for the dog to fail. Your dog wants to please you, and you can help him succeed. In this initial period, the dog should have only two location options: either with you, or a direct path to his bathroom area.
2. Soak a small bit of the dog's urine in a paper towel or newspaper and put in his bathroom area. If your dog smells his feces or urine in his bathroom area, he will be more likely to use that area. Clean any "accident" areas to an extreme degree so the dog doesn't smell his feces/urine there [you probably don’t want to smell it either]
3. Get the dog used to simply getting in and out of the box. This can be made into a fun experience for the dog. Simply lift and place the dog in the litter box and use a key phrase like "use the box". Praise him and be happy. After a few sessions, you should be able to have dog go in the box on his own when the keyword is used.

I know you can paper train dogs. I don't think hed need the litter as dogs don't bury their leavings. You could maybe trying putting the paper in a box like a litter box.

canines and domestic canines dont use kitty muddle container's. Kitty's use muddle container's via fact they conceal there poop with the muddle. Pupp's dont try this, Youll ought to coach her on papers and produce her outdoors in lots of situations, Dont provide her great foodstuff at night or allot of water until eventually now mattress time. you fairly ought to get some books on elevating a puppy. there is a lot to be attentive to.

I think it's a great idea, go for it.
If he's already using the bathroom as a bathroom (such a smart little guy, lucky you), definitely put the litter box in there.
After naps, meals, and anytime he's had to "hold it", put him in his box. Praise him for going.
Good luck

I think,,bad idea,, I think dog's should do their business outside, but thats my point of view, you state your dog is a male ,, and males lift their legs,an probably will pee everywhere on the walls or something when trying to go in it's litter
but still it is a good idea maybe would probably work better with females as they squat
