I think that Tom Amoss is pretty close even though he doesn't have a ton of horses like Doug O'neal and everyone else.

Well, if you take the # of horses out of the mix, and go by 2006 win %:

Wayne M. Catalano 33%
Steven Miyadi 33%
Stephanie S. Beattie 32%
Todd M. Beattie 32%
Howard E. Wolfendale 31%
Steve Klesaris 31%
Kirk Ziadie 30%
Anthony W. Dutrow 28%
Jayne Vaders 28%
Thomas M. Amoss 27%
Brian J. Koriner 27%
Carla Gaines 27%

So, if you discount the # of horses in a trainer's barn, and the value of the purses at their tracks, you would go strictly based on win %.

Other Trainers:

Hollendorfer 26%
Todd Pletcher 25%
Scott Lake 24%

All the trainers on the upper list (except for Carla Gaines, who I know is a high win % trainer and I had her stats on yesterday's form) came from top 100 earnings and wins list for 2006 from Equibase. So some other trainers with small operations could have been left out.
