High end vodkas are filtered at least 12 times during the distilling proses to remove impurities and low end vodkas are just distill. It leaving impurities. the impurities in alcohol are what give you the hangover and make you feel like sh*t the next morning. Potency is not an issue it's all 80 proof or 40% alcohol content unless you have 100 proof or 50%.

we dont always drink at the same pace,, you may have drank faster than other times which has given you a worser hangover.
I dont know if you drink it straight or mixed with orange juice or whatever but it could also be that you've poured your drinks stronger which would give you a faster effect and a mega hangover at that, trust me lol
