Owners of cats don't complain having their pets dispose of their waste in the home, why shouldnt dog owners respect their neighbors by keeping the public streets clean?

Why aren't people required to leave their screaming kids at home and not interrupt my dining experience? I've long said restaurants should allow dogs and not kids. And it's only the irresponsible people that leave their dogs deposits. Yell at them or do what I did and place it on their porch. It won't happen again.

Omg i totally agree with you!
I always pick up after my dog. I even wipe off his pee from the street. The reason I do that is because I hate it so much when I see dog poops on the streets!
today I was walking my puppy to a near by park and on the way my puppy went potty. I picked it up with a plastic bag and threw it away and we kept on walking....then I realized that there were dog poops left and right. And my puppy wanted to smell them!
you wouldn't throw away your baby's diaper on the street...so why not pick up after your dog?

I agree with bladedog. I don't understand the fact that stores and restaurants don't allow pets inside. I treat my puppy like my own baby. Well actually he is. After I had a miscarriage, he became my baby and healed my pain with happiness. Pets should be allowed in places where infant babies can. I keep my puppy very very clean. I wipe his private areas, his paws and his face everytime he goes outside and goes potty. I think my puppy is cleaner than half the people in the restuarant. It really hurts me when I have to leave him at home when I go out with my family..because he is my family.

I think in most cities there are laws that require dog owners to pick up their pet's waste.

Most dog owners clean up after their dogs, but come on....... I have boxers, you think they need to use a litter box inside?????????

EWWWWW id have to give up pets yuck, i personally think if they walked their cats they wouldnt need cat boxes other then emergency use .

Typical cat feces is much smaller than typical dog feces, To name one reason.

Cat feces can be easily put in a trash bag and disposed of without disturbing someone who has nothing to do with said cat, for another.

Most people have no idea whether you have a cat in your house or not, therefore have no reason to complain. If your dog is defecating outside, it is plain for everyone to see, therefore they have a reason to complain.

are those reasons enough?

Most towns have ordinances about that, but never seem to enforce it. I always "pick up" after my dogs. And if I have extra bags with me, I clean up other "crap"!! One morning I forgot my bags, and of course that was the morning one of my dogs needed a bag!! After our walk, I went back with a bag and cleaned it up!! Maybe we should hang doggie bags off of trees , hydrants, mailbox or telephone poles for those who don't bother to clean up!! Me, I just put notes in my neighbors mail boxes telling them to clean up after their dogs, with a doggie bag attached!!

thats a big problem .. in our town you pay a hefty fine if caught.. most owners carry a baggy with them to pick up the animals mess on the street .. some leave it for people to step in.. when i see someone i make damn sure they see me watching them and they pick up after their animals.. cats are different they are very clean and hide their mess..foxi

It's nasty when cats do it, that is why I have dogs.
