I have met so many men like this that I have totally given up on them and besides they have nothing to offer me, so I dump them. But is that how men are nowadays?

sweet T If the only answer to this is be go back 60 years and live like doormats well Im happy single thanks. Women had an awful time and were often beaten and there was no women's refuges or anything. No thank I will make my own cash and if a man doesnt earn enough and can't get over that, well either come on up but there is no way Im being dragged down.

missk PLEASE stop being a victim, yes these men pester and refuse to be dumped, but eventually they do get the message!

anthony has hit the nail on the head, terrible parents. That is the case for all these men I have dated and strangely they are deep down angry at the mother's but will not admit it. Emotionally unavailable parents just somes it up! Pity on the bully boys!

many men are damaged in their childhood because of many reasons ,but the main one is that their mother,or father let them down by not being emotionally available.
It is typical with men that they are emotional cripples by the age of nine,and they dont have any tools to be able to speak and get in touch with their true emotions.
there are many other factors, however, this is the one that seperates the men from the boys.

If we are then i'm doing a pretty c**p job of it. In our house there is one boss and that's the wife. Totally under the thumb and I love it. You're right to dump any man that tries to control you because a relationship should be all about compromise. There are things my wife wants to do that i don't like and vice versa...you have to be with someone you can find some middle ground with then everything will be coming up roses. My wife is probably the only person i've never had a full blown arguement with, we bicker...all the time. If you find yourself shouting or being shouted at...it's not worth it.

Now I might be wrong, but it sounds like you like a bit of rough then get bored with it. You sound like you think you can change men who are a bit tough, you can't.
If you go with a guy who is tough, then he will try and be tough all the time to impress you either that or he is a thug.
Try going for nice guys next time. The ones who don't slag people off, the ones that you have not noticed. These are the guys who will respect you. :-)

i don`t know mate i think some of us might attract them like some magnet i`ve been by myself with my 2 kids for 5 years now i split up with the kids dad because he was a bully and a control freak then met someone else who turned out to be a raving nutter if he see`s me in the street now 5 years later he cig burns me or beats me up for no reason except he can
i`m starting to think its me that turns them like that.
a few months a go i got talking to a nice man on the internet just as friends (not from a chat room or a dating site) well he seemed nice .untill he started wanting me to send photo`s and meet him and because i don`t want to or at least not yet he`s turned abusive and last night he threatened to find me and cause trouble if i don`t do what he wants. sorry for putting this lot on you but i feel devastated because the only reason i can find for him being like that is i turn them that way
so don`t think it only happens to you .i don`t think i`ll be able to talk to a man even anonimously again .The ones i find even refuse to be dumped

All lots of men are like that but there are the few who are not like that. You are just going to have to wait for Mr Right and he is out there some where and you will meet him with out looking for him. Its a strange world now a days.

I am a single mom and i was worried because everyone says that it is so hard.... and you know what. I LOVE IT. It is fun... really fun and way easier than any relationship I have been in with or without kids. I have the attitude now that if you want to date me... then show me what you can bring to the table.. because I bring alot too.. and if what you bring is any amount of crap that I am not willing to deal with.. that's ok because I have a great life going! The thing is, that attitude actually gets you more and higher quality men! who knew??

I was in a relationship like that - and now i have the most awesome guy!! he doesnt bully or pressure me - hes great!! So no.. not all men are like that nowadays!

quite a few men i know like to be in control and can bully, but i look at it like this, Men get away with what you let them get away with, but i do understand some can be more dominant and in those cases i would take control of my life from them by walking away

Havent u heard the saying that they wear the pants in the relationship. Sometimes they want to be right in everything and what ever they do no matter its wrong just leave it as it is.They dont want to be told what to do.
