They should never have been there in the first place. The invasion was illegal and the laeders involved should be put on trial but that will never happen.

They have got themselves into an impossible situation where losing is the only option. The only variable is how long it takes the leaders to realise it. They should have learned from experience in Viet Nam and Afghanistan

Civil war, sect violence: Shia to Sunni, Sunni to Kurds, etc.. innocents slaughtered. Surrounding nations will have their imbeded puppets fighting for the country. Iran takes over as the only viable help, they get a another stronghold. Now with oil to support a longstanding conflict. Then they'll have the advantage in the impending war with the west and Israel.

Basically Lebanon circa 1975. But now with nuclear weapons!!!

Not if their governments want to continue playing nursemaids to the incompetent Iraqi Government whose intention is to leave American and Austrlian soldiers in harm's way. The al-Maliki government is a joke. It doesn't appear to have a national interest, but to let the al-Sadr Shiite terrorists strengthen. How then could attackers, dressed in American service uniforms, speaking in English, and going straight to the provincial government facility, bypassing the Iraqi police in the compound to kidnap our soldiers yesterday, only to torture and kill them??? Have to be an Iraqi inside police job!

Well lets see.......the Spanish left and they followed them home and started bombing away. Surely you know they would follow both home and start bombing away . Running from a fight always shows weakness.
