The more important fact is not what is the minimum score to get in but what is the minimum score to chose a job that you would like to have. Each MOS in the Army has a minimum score to obtain to be in that job. You might score just enough to get in but then you are going to be stuck with a job that you absolutely hate. See about getting a book to study for the ASVAB. Taking the test is not a one shot deal. You can wait a few month and then take it again after you have studied for it to get a better score, improving the number of jobs that you are eligible for.

For the Marine Corps males need a 32 and females need a 54. If you are a male who just gets a 32, you'd better be prepared to go infantry. The higher your scores, the more opportunity you will have. There are lots of asvab prep books at Barnes & Noble and Books-a-Million. If you decide after you are in that you want to change jobs (2-4years after you enlist), you can retake the asvab. I don't know about the Army, but the Marines actually offer asvab classes for active duty members trying to raise their score.

with a High School diploma: 35

With a GED: 50(although the Marines currently take very few GED holders)

adding 15 credit hours(100 level or higher) of college classes elevates a GED to the equivalent of a HS diploma.
