Hi all - i'm not kidding - i just gave him a bath and while i was drying him i noticed that his wee little cute balls are purple and harder than normal (kind of looks like hickies) - i touched them and it didn't seem to bother him ....could he just be maturing from a puppy to a dog ? Should i be worried ....has anyone seen this b4 !! Thanks again !

If you see that neither testicle is abnormal in size, firmness, nor shape, and that neither testicle is tender when touched..... then
This is a normal scrotal skin pigmentation change, often seen in male Chihuahuas at the time of puberty.

I have a 1 year old male chi and that never happened to him but then we also had him neutered around 8/9 mos old. I dont really think it has anything to do with maturing but the best thing to do is to go see your vet. Never do the wait and see thing--chihuahuas are too precious.
Elena: it is not sick or perverted--some people just love their pets so much that everything about them is cute. I know I feel the same about my chihuahua and have no problem telling anyone.

I've never seen this before. How old is he? If he's over six months then it's time to get him neutered. A quick chat with your vet may dispel your worry.

That literally disgusts me. Who says that their dogs testicles are "WEE LITTLE CUTE BALLS"?!?!?!
I think you should be worried about your wording over a dogs testicles.
Get him neutered!
