You get an automatic exemption for yourself as long as you are not being claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer.

the best thing would be to read the form carefully but u really can't cause they are too complicated lol. but i think what u have to do is put 0 thru the whole thing to claim only ourself.

You cannot claim yourself if someone else is claiming you as a dependent

When it asks you if anyone else can claim you as a dependent - you check the "no" box.

first make sure no one else can claim you. after all i assume you are independent from any care takers.
