I want to buy a LDCD TV and want to know how do I decide between the various options available. Which tech specs should I look out for when comparing different brands and models.

4:
1.Contrast ratio, nothing less that 1000, passive, not the dynamic ratio.
2. Response time. 11m secs or better
3. Panel life. 50,000h or better.
4. Vertical resolution 1080x1920p preferred, 1080x1920i acceptable (720x1280 not as good)

It took me 2 months of research!
I opted for LCD over Plasma, and I am Not disappointed!
Points to Consider:
1)Size of Room (TV ratio = Screen size x3 for Optimal Viewing distance).
2)Wall Mounted Versus On top of Audio Video Stand.
3) Is it a Main Viewing area, or are you considering placing them around the Home(Bedroom,Kitchen Etc).
4) Will you be Viewing HD Cable Transmissions as well as Blue ray and HD DVD Source.

I went with Panasonic Viera Range of LCD's,(32 Inch Main, and Several 26 Inch Models for round the Home)
All Interlinked through a Media Center with HDMI Cabling , to AV Cinema Speakers and processor.

This Model comes with 2 HDMI inputs,Composite Audio IN and the Technology and Picture Quality is the Best!(I'm sure you could spend More, but Panasonic is Reliable!!)
I Love my Set up,but having good Cabling and Great Sound is very Important to compliment the High Quality Images you will See!
Hope this Helps!
