"A Christian is simply anyone who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. " (cmm_home: )

Gays who don't repent can be imperfect Christians just as all other Christians are imperfect, it is no bar to being a Christian surely?

We know adulterer's, fornicator's, liars, bigot's and hateful homophobes etc have no problem being part of a religion that says it is a sin for them to be what they are, they are imperfect Christians but the church is not renting itself apart over these issues just gays are singled out as scapegoats.

To repent a sin one must first believe it to be a sin, many gays do not believe the exaggeratedly homophobic interpretation of scripture or that their natural condition is sinful, they believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

That is like saying a homosexual priest. If people read the Bible then they know it's a sin. You can't pick and chose what parts of the Bible you want to follow just because you don't like what it says. Now if a homosexual repents, ask for forgiveness, and ask Jesus Christ to come into their hearts, then they will be forgiven.

Not exactly. Just because someone calls them self a Christian doesn't mean they are saved. A homosexual can be a Christian, but only a repentant Christian homosexual can be saved. You clearly do not have a biblical understanding of salvation. Salvation isn't really a "nutshell" kind of thing, salvation takes much wisdom, faith and understanding.

For the best understanding with out getting carpel tunnel...if you are really interested get a Bible & read the book of Romans, then read the Gospel, Matthew, Mark Luke & John. I am not trying to convert you, just educate you on why we believe what we believe!

NO ONE can be a Christian who doesn't repent, ask for forgiveness of sins, and turn his life over to Christ. If anybody wants to call themselves "Christian" who's to stop them--but that doesn't make them one.
All Christians who are still alive are imperfect and continue to commit sins but the difference is that when they turned to Christ, He forgave them of all their sins, past, present, and future. Also, they do not continue in the same sins that they were in before they became Christians.
God doesn't forgive anybody of anything unless they repent and "repent" means "to turn from". Get it? That means that if the person has no intention of "turning from" his sin then he can never be a Christian. So a Gay who says he's a Christian but doesn't give up his sin, including sexual sin, is not and never can be a Christian in fact.

I think it's because they are homophobic. Most Christians have no problem saying an adulterer can be a Christian...adultery isn't any more bad Biblicaly than homosexuality.

Yet, If I were gay and thought I was born that way I don't think I'd ever accept a religion which says it is sinful for me to be what I am.

You are right! Trusting God is the way to him. Jesus made that possible. There was a woman doing what current Christians would call, 'living in sin'. You can read about it in John5:

16He told her, "Go, call your husband and come back."

17"I have no husband," she replied.

Jesus said to her, "You are right when you say you have no husband. 18The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true."

19"Sir," the woman said, "I can see that you are a prophet. 20Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem."

21Jesus declared, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
22You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.
23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
25The woman said, "I know that Messiah" (called Christ) "is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us."
26Then Jesus declared, "I who speak to you am he."

After that, he stayed with them for two days. TWO DAYS! The Savior of the world stayed with sinners for two days!

I think that it's a far cry from the fundie approach. Jesus is MY example to how to love people, not the typical Christian of these days!

That is exactly right, some people just like to feel superior. Like one sin is worse than another. But all sin is equal.

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
James 2:10

We will have to work on it.

"All are equal unto the eyes of the Lord." I have no issue with gays. A guy at work threatened to punch a guy who hit on him. I thought that was ridiculous. Just say no, smile and move on. They can do what they want. They really don't bother anyone.

A Christian does not simply imply by saying that "I believe Jesus is the Son of God" and that's it.

Christians are followers of God...followers of good....stop doing good...and one is in danger of punishment. If you say you love God, yet you don't do His commandments, God says they are liars.

Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing, God says.
You can know Christians by their fruits, not by lip service

=========

There were in the Church written in the Bible that they should do away with a brother who is called a "brother" yet practicing sexual immorality...so that he will be ashamed...and it will not defile or prevail or permeate in the Church...coz the Body of Christ should be holy ..

it was written for admonition to the true followers of Christ dating back in the first century AD!
Now think how any worse is immorality then than now huh?

======

Sexual Immorality shouldn't be tolerated....like what was written... for the sake of sanctification of the believers in their aim to be holy in body, mind and spirit.
=======

I MEAN...... EVEN DEMONS BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD.

Because they are intolerant. All who follow god should be allowed to worship him.
