alcohol intinsifies the effect of any medication it's taken in combination with.

this can be a dangerous combination. it makes you severely sleepy and in addition-lowers your heartrate and blood pressure-sometimes to dangerous levels. when your blood pressure or heartrate gets too slow-your breathing starts to slow down as the body's way of trying to "save" itself. this is when people go into respiratory arrest and stop breathing. your heart could do the same thing-drop down so low that it just stops.

i would advise against taking both of these at the same time. if you know you are going to drink-avoid taking the medication that day.

you might want to seek help for the alcohol-long term use of it can cause serious health problems in the long run.

Then alcohol intensifies Ativans potency which can put you to sleep...standing up. Careful with that combo.

Bella is right on. Your chances of being excessively sleepy, dopey, and drunk go up exponentially (the technical term is drug synergism) . One or the other.
