I just hate it when Christians do this !

I'm Christian, and to see them doing this just makes me cringe.
Makes me wonder just how good of a Christian they really are.

hush: Although your question generalizes all Christians as disrespectful to "non-believers", I would say that yes, some do and no, some don't. Remember; not all people on the Y.A. site are who they say they are. Some pose as Christians, Atheists and Gnostics and like to stir up contention, to make fools out of people. On the other hand, Christians come in various degrees of spiritual maturity - some are just immature . Some have dysfunctional practices and some have some, real bad theology.
But, all in all, people are people, and have large egos; therefore, everyone has his or her time and turn at being a "jerk", whether you be a Christian, Atheist, Gnostic or Agnostic. (Including the people, who post to get a "rise" out of others !)

Are you claiming that all Christians’ disrespect or just the ones you know? It is my duty as a Christian to share the gospel, if once you have heard it you say you don't care. That’s fine we've done our job and should walk away.

Could it be that you do not have patients enough to let each Christian say what they need to before you turn them down, do you consider us like telemarketers who just keep calling & calling? Do you ever wonder why so many people want you to hear that message? Have you ever really listened to that message before you just assumed you didn’t want what we were selling?

God gave all humans free will, the choice to believe or not believe? But he never said there wouldn’t be consequences for non-believers! Besides you don’t believe so why take any of what we say to heart, why worry about the Good News we keep trying to spread, if it is all false what difference does it make to you how many calls we make? And as far as disrespect, you are the ones hanging up on us in the middle of our pitch, instead of just politely saying “No Thank You!”

I hope I have not disrespected you with my answer.

Is anything that is said about God seen as disrespect of their non-belief? If that is the case then it's unavoidable if they wish to sit here on R&S, because not disrespecting their non-belief would be detrimental to others hearing the truth if talking about God is in fact disrespecting their non-belief.

Because of its founder, Paul of Tarsus and the Jewish High
Priests of the House of Ananus that subverted the true message of Jesus and the Church of the Nazarenes, including James the blood brother of Jesus who was murdered by the founders of Christianity in 62 CE.

Because it has never been a religion of truth, but a religion founded on lies.

It's not "Our God", God is God... the one and only. Who says it's "disrespect" when it's a matter of >free speech<. If you don't like the idea of >free speech< you're probably not in a free nation, at least there they will definately serve their brand of "religious ideology" upon you. Then, and only then you might thank the Christian handing you that tract for the >freedom of choice< of accepting God or not.

Because they are told to. One can't destroy a person or ideas if one treats them with respect. One has to denigrate and violate others to lower them and make one's own idiocy - oops, ideology - look superior.

All extremist ideologies - religion, communism, fascism - can only expand their influence by criminalizing, "re-educating", exiling or killing those people who don't accept their ideologies. Those who want dictatorship, whether religious or political, must remove any resistance to their occupation of society.

True Christians would not disrespect anyone, even a non-believer. I grew up Catholic, and were taught to respect everyone's beliefs, even those different than our own.

Because God doesn't want us to respect and agree with them. Honest answer. All through the days of old you can read where God actually instructed his followers to speak out against false witnesses. It is a grave mistake that many Christians are making today in trying to respect and agree with everything for the sake of friendship.
