Why did he sign-up then? What an idiot. The govt owns him now he is just going to have to serve his time like many of us before him have.

He knew there became a conflict occurring while he signed up and that as a MARINE he might could combat. He became government sources while he signed that settlement. If he did no longer prefer to combat then he would not have joined a scuffling with stress of the provider. He would have chosen the Air stress or the army rather. that is too previous due. there's no longer something that he can do now yet meet his criminal duty. I surely have a brother in regulation who's approximately to do his 2d excursion of accountability interior the conflict zone and he's a marine. Over 3,000 troops have died and that they are generally young ones 19 to twenty-5 years previous. you will possibly superb prepare your self for the prospect that some thing would desire to happen to him---no longer saying that it will. top now he desires your help and effective ideas-set. you will no longer help him by utilising crying and feeding into his sense sorry approximately. he will could have the ability to pay interest on his responsibilities and not concern approximately you and how you're getting on. once you talk to him attempt to be upbeat and inspiring and tell him which you like him and that no depend what you would be there for him and enable him comprehend which you have his lower back. you have have been given to be reliable for the two one among your sakes. do no longer enable him down. He desires you.

This is pretty common. It's not just because of the uncertainty of going to Iraq. The whole experience is new.

When he gets to Iraq, everything will change. The fear really won't go away so much but you also get a sense of pride when yous see the people there and understand what you're doing. You get some confidence from the guys you serve with because of their experience and the fact that there's so many of them and the units act professionally.

Just remember that more than 1 million have gone to Iraq and only 3000 have died, and those are really good odds.

Now there is no way get out this problem. He got the order and he must go to Iraq. We have more than 140.000 soldiers there and have to stay there for one year and some of them more than a year. I wish there is some way everybody can say NO for all that, and the wars didn't even start, because no soldiers there.
I wish you and your friend the best and don't be sad, just pray and hope he be back soon home.

Although I feel for your boyfriend, its seems rather ignorant to join the Marines and not expect to ever fight...maybe the Navy or Air Force but the Marines?!?!

Many of the people who have posted before me have given great advice. Just try whatever you can to help him out.

If he doesn't want to go to war, why did he enlist in the military, especially the Marine Corp, who are usually the first outfit to be deployed in the war zone? The military is no social club.He has to fullfill his military obligations, there is no way out, other than him cracking up mentally.

Once he starts killing he will be OK. Getting that first terrorist in his gun sights in the most difficult. After that it's no problem. He will develop a hard heart and realize that killing is second nature. This is good. The more dead terrorists the better. You should be proud of his accomplishments.

sorry must take a hard line here. this ain't kid stuff anymore, this is real life. an adult male must deal with the consequences of his decisions. this war was going on when he enlisted. he will go. or he will go to a naval stockade, perhaps prison, then, when he gets out he will go.

personally, i do not agree with this war, it is predicated on lies and misinformation. but that is not the fault of the marine corps.

I don't know much about this, but I think that he can misbehave in some way to make him unfit to serve. I think he might also be able to simply refuse to serve. I wonder if they would put him in jail for that? Maybe if he got drunk and did something really inappropriate he could get discharged.
