I've had hypertension ( high blood pressure ) for over 25 years. I've never really had any doctors tell me not to eat before going to bed, but rather just to eat a healthy diet.

A normal blood pressure reading runs around 120/80. If your lower number is very high, then I suggest that you seek out a doctor who will get you on a prescription medication to control your high blood pressure.

There are many factors in high blood pressure. Some of it is heredity, some of it is stress, and some of it is bad diet. Regardless, it's something that needs to be treated, and I suggest you do so. You don't want to increase your risk of stroke or heart attack.

Go....git 'r done!

Eating just before bed can cause different health problems. If you can imagine the food just lying there, not having your body moving enough to push it through your system, all the fat has no way to be worked off for several hours, indigestion occurs when you eat and lie down, as for high blood levels, any bad diet can cause a healthy body to collapse.

At night the metabolic rate slows down and the food you eat gets converted to fat. Moreover eating too much close to bed time causes the food to push up against the esaphogus causing acid reflux. If you do that for a number of years you can even get a disease called GURD which makes it difficult to swallow and could eventually lead to cancer.
