I need/want to gain at least 20 pounds in a month-month and a half. Is that a unachievable/unhealthy goal?? What would I need to do in order to do this...?

And also...in terms of working out. if you dont have enough money for a gym, can working out at home still work??? i mean, can i have a nice body from sit-ups, push ups, etc??? i bought two 10 lb dumbells...is that a good amount of weight?

you can probably gain 20 lbs in that time but it would not be healthy. and yes you can work out from home. but 2 10 lb weights isn't really much. check out the sites for men's magazines like men's health, muscle and fitness, etc. try bodybuilding.com too.

Gaining that much weight in that short peiod of time isnt healthy. Myabe 10lb would be attainable. What I can suggest is eat PROTEIN and workout!

A protein heavy diet is the most important factor in gaining muscle. Drinking Whey protein shakes 3-4 times a day is an easy way to sneak protein into your diet. And eat healthy protein rich foods like eggs, chicken breast, tuna, oatmeal, and peanut butter. This month's Men's Health magazine actually has some really good tips on getting protein into your diet. It's on newstands now.

And yes you can get a nice body without weights. I work out at home with no weights. I'm mostly using this routine, and coupled with the protein rich diet i am seeing some really good gains.

The workout I use: http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/mat2.htm

Hope that helps. Godd Luck.

No, that is an unheatly goal only because your body will not be able to gain that much lean mass in 45 days, and most would have to come in the form of fat... so bad idea there.

I personally workout at home and love it. You only need a few things... dumbbells, a stright bar, a bench, and other personal taste items. No, working out with 10lb dumbbells is not going to result is ture gains, uless your extreamly small now. I would suggest to get the few items, and research and start a true regiment that will work towards your goals.

eating protien from things liek peanuts and red meats will help grow mscle... but the problem with only 10 pound dumbels is that lower weight is for toning, your not going to gain alot of muscle mass from doing high reps of low weights... the best way to gain mass is to max out wich would be lower reps with a higher weight... remember PROTIEN and high weight low reps and you have a chance!

You need much bigger weights to gain muscle. Remember, you are trying to damage the muscle so that it grows back stronger.

Carbs before your workout. Protein after. Eat much, and healthy.
