why not try natural remedy,as shampoos for dandruff r harsh on scalp,,,,,feenugreek seeds paste(methi),can prevent baldness and hairloss,and also cures other hair diseases like dandruff,apply on hair for half hour every week

Unfortunately, you can never really get rid of dandruff. It's the body's natural way of shedding dead skin. But, it is something that can be controlled.
Most of the time, if your dandruff problem isn't too severe, you can purchase any name brand dandruff shampoo and it will do the job for you. Make sure you rinse it out real well. If you have a more serious case, then you might want to try a shampoo that has a coal tar base to it. It smells pretty rough, and you'll need to shampoo with something a little fruitier after your first shampoo so you don't run the boys off!
If you REALLY have a severe case, then I'd recommend going to a dermotologist and allow them to help you out.
For most cases, the above mentioned should work just fine.

No need to go for shampoo to get rid of dandruff. This is the most common complaint, and all of us suffer from this at some time or the other. There are a lot of misconceptions associated with dandruff. People who have this problem rush out and buy up the latest shampoos and conditioners.
WARM OIL TREATMENT :
Warm 4-5 tablespoons full of wheat germ oil, olive oil or coconut oil. Massage well into the scalp. Wrap a warm towel around your head. Leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly with water, to which lemon juice has been added. Massage well as you rinse. This is the most commonly known cure for dandruff.

Hello,
My husband and son was always getting dandruff so asked at the drug store and the man told me about this shampoo and never again did they have the problem- It is called, Nizerol. (Can buy on the shelve at store)
Dandruff can also be caused by dry scalp, hair spray, gel, not getting all shampoo out of hair or changing the bedding more often than should. We only need a dime size amount of shampoo to was our hair as I'm told.

Are you sure it is dandruff or is it just dry scalp? Most people confuse the two, but actual dandruff is oily, not dry.
If it is just dry scalp maybe you shouldn't shampoo your hair as often. If you feel you need to shampoo every day, try using just conditioner every other time (a bonus if you have natural waves or curls- it perks them up). There are enough cleaning agents in conditioner without resorting to the harsh drying cleansers in shampoo every time.
If it is really dandruff your best bet is a prescription shampoo.

2. Clean the comb with anti dandruff shampoo.
3. wait for 5 minutes
4. check if dandruff is gone
5. if dandruff is gone goto step 7.
6. go to step 1.

Dandruff is due to dried skin and more heat in the roots of hair. In winter season it will trouble a lot . U can permenantly stop this by taking oil bath weekly twice. Don't use shampoo , it will make this situation worst.
