They prefer it for style only. They think that it will give an impression to others that the bike is sports bike and it will create an attention of people.

It would hardly be pick up carrying extra weight on a bicycle tends to slow you down.
The only reason for silencers on a bicycle would be if you have eaten to much cabbage and your embarrassed about farting.

What are you talking about,,,, I drive a sportbike around town and I love it being louder than crap and eveyone I know loves the sound of a loud bike lol.
