where is the torque converter located on a 1991 caprice classic?

It is located in front of the tranmission. It sits between the rear of the engine and front of the transmission. Since the front of the transmission mounts to the rear of the engine you wont be able to see the actual T. Converter until the transmission is removed.

torque convertor is part of the tranmission..if you unbolt the tranmission from the engine..the very first thing you see is the convertor..it's round and spins on the main shaft of transmission, also about 10- 12 inches in diameter and contains transmission fluid...
