No never store it in the fridge. If you do, it separates, and becomes "no good"

Many people keep olive oil in the refigerator thinking that it will extend its shelf life or in order to avoid it to get rancid....this is ONE OF THE WORSE PLACES to keep it !!
Most of the time you can find bottles without harvest and expiration date...that should be the first thing to care of buying your bottle of olive oil at the grocery store rather than thinking how to preserve it later!! How can we think about extending its shelf life if we don't even know when it was produced?!?
Bottles of olive oil should not be refrigerated because condensation can occur on the lid and drip water back into the oil, which could spoil the oil’s flavor and cause rancidity.
The secret then is to keep it just at room temperature and away from the direct light and use it and be sure to buy a bottle where I can read the date of production or at least the expiration date.
Once the bottle is open it will last two-three months with no problem if it is a good product.

EVO is to stored at room temperature in a cool area. Also note that you should keep the lid tight on it. EVO will last a bit longer than other oils. Still if you do not use it often, be sure to purchase smaller bottles. It gets expensive if you buy the larger size and a total bummer if you do not use it all before it expires on you after opening. Its also great for skin care. Just an extra tip for you.

It can be stored in the fridge - it will last longer, but may solidify. This won't affect the taste - it just needs to be left at room temp to liquify again.
Re some of the other answers: it will not become worthless nor will it separate. It may separate if it's mixed with something else, but if it's pure olive oil, it cannot separate from itself.

Actually after you open it you can keep it out in the pantry, cabinet, etc. I think if you put it in the fridge it actually won't be as good as is fresh. Refrigeration also mixs all the ingredients together cause a funky after taste especially when cold.

No, when stored in the fridge oil separated... and it's never the same... My mom once stored bread dipping oil in the fridge... it was okay when it came back to room temperature.. but there's really no need for refrigeration for EVOO

Yes you should store in the fridge because if you don't it will taste weird after sitting for a while. If you place it in the fridge it will harden(come together). What I do when that happens is I would let it set out at room temperature for a while or remove all the metal rings/caps and place it in the microwave for a couple of seconds to bring back to the oily consistency.

No, it will solidify and be worthless to you. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. A pantry or kitchen cabinet will work.

No. It is preferred that you store in a colored glass container and in the dark to keep it from becoming rancid.
