Folks have differing reasons. Our society bases it's sexual mores on old customs, passed on from religions like Puritanism. The ideas themselves come from even farther back. In my opinion, and many others, every perversion comes from rigid enforcement of a taboo. The more evil this taboo thing is made to seem, the more likely that someone will try it. That's a oversimplification, but you get the drift.
Currently, more folks are SCARING children from sex, which is naturally, increasing the rate of young people becoming sexually active.
With the people I know personally, I have noticed that the parents who were the wildest when they were teens, are strictest with their own children. This is just an observation made on a very limited group, but interesting to me.
I wish we could get more socially adult about sex, and sex education. I believe there would be less people who had problems with sex.

I am not protecting my child from sex, but perversion & immorality. Sex if for adults (not children). Preferably, married adults, to find pleasure in each other & for producing offspring. Children are not capable of dealing with or understanding sex and all the baggage that comes with it, until the adult years when the physical body (hormones) can control them self to make good judgments.
A picture can't be offensive, but its contents can be! I may find pleasure in my husband’s naked body but that doesn’t mean everyone else will or even will want to see, nor do I want to share! His body is for me, that is why we married to share ourselves with each other.
Many young children use this site. You would hate to have an angry parent sue you for sexual abuse to a minor, because you posted naked or pornographic avatars on a site being accessed by children. Just think when they won you’d have to register as a sex offender, and on work applications you would have to say that you were convicted of a felony. Just because you thought it was funny to post a picture of some chick peeing, or two people having sex, or whatever. I am also sure Yahoo! Would like to avoid a n expensive lawsuit, too. Who knows after Yahoo! Gets sued maybe they’ll sue you for posting the picture!
Well just food for thought!

The reason why people take offence is they do not like their own body's being naked there is nothing wrong with it. but as an parent they like to protect children from it because children are at an early age. they do not understand it and its damaging to their growth of learning . let children be children they are not adults and you learn that stuff when you are older and mature.and wiser. sometimes in life you learn about things when you are older you tend to understand it more.

Society, in other words, the wishes of the whole, has dictated that it should not be allowed... Children should be taught about sex, yet in a way that should hold the context of proper behavior.
Ted Bundy sighted pornography as the in gate to his murderous fetish, promiscuity has led to the growth of all kinds of incurable disease.
Besides. If everyone was allowed to post their pictures on here.. All the cellulite and gross body hair would give millions of people terminal nausea.

The parents hopefully will raise their children by teaching them about the things they will need to know as it becomes age appropriate!
It certainly offends me to see an avatar here of a female with her legs spread and her hand holding the thong aside so that all of her genitalia is clearly shown. It should be my choice who's genitalia I wish to see and when. And it is not here in the R&S section of YA

It's a natural, parental response to wanting to protect children.
The USA has a highly puritanical approach to sex, and our culture has difficulty deciding how to introduce the idea to children. It's not everyone who becomes easily offended, but it is a sizable portion of the population.

It probably has a lot to do with the stage of development. 18 is too young, but society accepts that as norm. Anything younger is considered, "child porn". Anyone involved in any type of child exploitation should be castrated, or put in prison so that the other inmates can view his/her naked body.
PS Don't drop the soap!

Lust is a sin we should teach children that sex is a part of love not just for self gratification. I do not think the human body is bad but how many use it can be.

Read the Community Guidelines.
I for one am sick and tired of people who think it funny or trying to draw attention to themselves by using pornographic Avatars and changing the user name to "cloak" their doings.
This is a religious category and anyone with ANY respect would not purposely use porn of any type other than to deface the purpose of this category.
And you can thumbs down me all you want, I don't care and be forewarned I will continue to report such things!

I, for one, am definitely not a parent who shields her children from things. To the contrary, I think many people would be shocked at what I allow my children to be exposed to - but I refuse to let them go out into this screwed-up world unarmed, as it were. The stupid avatars that you're undoubtedly referring to, however, are just that: stupid. They're certainly not shocking. They're not amusing. And, it was already old the first day they did it. It's just childish and stupid.
