The older a person gets, the stranger the voice becomes. In your case, try not yelling or singing so much. Give your voice a rest.

Uh, stop yelling- it's rough on the vocal cords. Take some time off singing, too- you probably ough to talk to a doctor to find out how long, though.

Make sure you warm up your voice before you sing- EVERY practice, EVERY performance.

Don't smoke. If you do smoke, quit. The stuff you breath in is brutal on the tissues in your throat. Smoking also reduces your breath capacity, so you're not as able to sustain long notes.

Your voice is cracking because your vocal cords are swollen from abusing your voice. The only thing you can do at this point is rest it. No humming, singing, clearing your throat, laughing, coughing, yelling, loud whispering or excessive talking. If you avoid abusive vocal behaviors, you should be OK in two to three weeks. If you still have problems, see an ENT (ear, nose and throat doctor).

Every one gets an air chink in their voice at one time in their life, according to scientists. Or it could be from that laser surgery.
