Algodon means cotton.
Just inside the area of Cadiz is a little white washed village called Algodonales which it is said, took its name many years ago from the thriving cotton industry.
There is a workshop in Algodonales of the renowned guitar maker Valeriano Bernal, whose beautiful instruments are sought after by many of the leading classical and flamenco guitarists in Spain
