I was on the highest dose (20mg) for about a year. I went against my doctor's advice and quit cold turkey. I had every side effect you listed. I also had this tingly feeling that's hard to explain. It was like tingles in my head, neck, and spine everytime I stood up or turned my head. It made me feel like I was going to faint. Sometimes I saw flashes of light along with the tingles.

I also got very sick. I ran a high fever for days, and couldn't keep anything down for nearly two weeks. My neck was so sore they thought I had meningitis, but the tests for it came out negative. It was a total mystery that didn't appear until I stopped taking that med. I was put back on it for another year, at a lower dose (10mg). A few months ago I quit taking it again (I really hate how it makes me feel), and again I was mysteriously very ill in the exact same way. It has to be connected to Lexapro.

The total time, including the side effects listed and the mystery illness, was about a month and a half before I felt anything close to normal again.

wow a lexapro question
i was on lexapro and have stopped taking it for some months now
agitation sounds about right
i think i had some dizziness
i do no think i experienced all those symptoms or maybe just not to a high degree do not remember
the thing that got me was the emotions
i kinda crashed not exactly but when i got off it i was really depressed
i would get nervous flighty
agitated
on lexapro i felt numb i could not feel emotions all that well on it
the world felt much different without it i can feel things again
i laugh easier
i smile on occasions now
could not feel anything bad on lexapro nothing good either
it has been some months now aim fine now i have been fine

question,are you stopping cold turkey???
if you are that is bad EXTREMELY BAD
you have to ween yourself off of it
i didn't take it for a week felt bad popped one down
if you just stop taking all together that is harsh on your body
it can and most likely make you sick if you just stop
take a half of one here and there
just don't jump into the water ease yourself into it

I reiterate what others are saying about stopping cold turkey. You're supposed to gradually come off of Lexapro under the supervision or your doctor/psychiatrist. I don't want to make any recommendations, but in my own experience, I was told to cut my dosage in half for a period of time, then it was down to every other day before I went off the meds and had no adverse side effects at all. Note that this was over several months. In fact, I felt very good once I was off the meds completely. You really should talk to your doctor about this.

I'm so sorry that you're going through this! I was on Lexapro for about a year. When I went off it (I phased off), I experienced this really weird "floaty", out-of-it feeling. It was sort of like being dizzy, but nothing felt like it was spinning. The word I used to describe it was "loopy." Like I'd taken a ton of cold medicine, and my head felt like it was up in the clouds. I couldn't concentrate enough to drive for a week, but it did pass.

Good luck!!!

When my BPD ex roommate went off her Lexapro, she didn't have any side effects that I remember.... other than going back to being a violent, angry b*tch. You should call your Dr, that doesn't sound normal.

If you just stop cold turkey, you will always get these side effects. If you can deal with them, in my experiences the side effects last about three weeks.....I have since then learned to wean myself of the medication....one every two or three days depending on the dizziness....good luck

I was always hungry. That's the only side affect. When I was on it, I was really restless and I hardly ate.
