sex until we have a better connection as far as communicating. he has not been there for me emotionally in this relationship so i feel why should we have sex. am i wrong? he has some ugly habits that are affecting our relationship and he wont change so im not having sex with him cause i refuse to have sex with someone who cant be there for me emotionally. what do you think? besides its my body and i can do what i want with it. i shouldnt have to have sex with him cuz he wants to. if he cant treat me right outside the bed then why should i let him have his way with me in the bed. right?

Wrong , don't use sex to force him to change.

If he doesn't see this himself then he doesn't care enough.

So show him the door.

So let's say he does change, then you will tell yourself the only reason he did is because i wasn't giving him sex, so now he's just doing it to get sex.

Sure, but that doesn't really resolve anything, does it?

I think you want him to at least LISTEN and he's not doing that, but you're being as childish.

Whether it's withholding sex or refusing to drive him to the train or to stop buying milk or however you divide things in your day-to-dealings, you're both diminishing sex to an act and it ceases to be something special. That's unfortunate.

When a relationship gets to the point yours is then it's time to consider whether or not it's worth it to even go on.

There's hope, but it's slim, because that kind of back and forth "I won't do this 'cause he won't do that" and vice versa accomplishes little except to breed resentment and negativity.

It's apparent that you still care about him, but maybe it's time to take a break and think things through.

I've always thought withholding sex was not only hurting him, but me too.

However, I also feel that if you *don't want to have sex, then you shouldn't.

When hubby and I are fighting, sex is not withheld on either side. Maybe you should evaluate his habits, if they are bad enough, separate/leave/take time away. If they are just irritating and that's who he is, then talk about it.

So I guess withholding is okay if you're okay with it. But how long can you hold out???

Withholding sex is always a bad sign. I would straight out break up with him until he can treat you better. You deserve more. You shouldn't have to play games like stopping sex. You don't have to have sex with anyone unless you want to.

Yes, you're right... you do have the right to say 'no' if you don't feel like it.. What you are talking about is intimacy (physical intimacy, to be precise).

Now... intimacy requires good communication, trust, and comfort. If you are feeling that something is missing, then intimacy will not happen.

If he understands this, he will give you what you want - and you won't be asking this question.

Now stick to your guns and, if necessary, get out while you can.

You are correct...
If he has problems you cannot live with then you should go
ahead and break-up with him...He probably won't get better...
