if he cares for you he wont listen, if he loves you he just wants to rub in the guys face what a wonderful woman you are. ur ex is just talking crap because he knows he lost a wonderful person and he wants to make himself feel better. that is the common chauvinist thing to do. he will talk bad about you to look good with his friends that will probably tell him how stupid he was for leaving you. the guy that loves you might want to know what rumors are going on or is just curious to know bad things about you which probably arent true. so talk with your friend and also be careful that you dont start a relationship with your friend just as a rebound and he isnt just with you because you are vulnerable. be strong and determined. things will get better. you'll see. good luck

the nice guy hangs out with your ex- so what. never be bothered by that, unless the nice guy's attitude changes towards you.(you cant monitor him all the time and control what he does and doesn't.) see the truth eventually always prevails. let your ex talk rubbish. be very confident and you shouldn't do the same. don't talk bad about your ex.in fact you should play the'' i really truly loved him'' that will get you more votes.let your friend be. if he was truly your friend,has bin thru ups and lows with you and really understood you,then he would have known that you wouldn't like him talking to your ex.he would have that much common sense.make these 2 insignificant and shift your focus. friend mite come back if he was for real in the first place. and your bf- no talking bad about him. - practical advise-okie-

hate hurts the hater. Don't ask him to pick sides. Leave your ex in the past and move on. If you are not going out, why do you care who else he talks to. Don't get too dependent on him. Don't talk about your ex with him and expect the same from him.
I cant parse the part about how he loves you but you are not going out. Loves like a sister, a friend? If he love loved you he wouldn't be spending much time with your ex, so you REALLY need to move on!

If the new guy loves you like you say he told you...you should sit down with him and tell him that you dont feel comfortable with him hanging out with someone who speaks so poorly of you. If he's really a good friend he would cut all ties. If not...its always fun ignoring people.

First off it is your duty to protect your reputation, its natural for someone to be upset and say things that they dont mean or that are untrue. What you need to do is maintain your integrity. Protect yourself, by not hiding the truth, if he is lying he will get caught in a lie and everyone will see his true colors. As long as you do not lie about anything, he has nothing on you, its all just none sense and exagerations, he will dig his own grave, just be patient....

The new guy will know not to listen to an ex for the truth. If he's so dumb as to listen to your ex instead of making his own mind, then he's not as wonderful as you think he is.
