im on the recovery of anorexia and i seem tobe gaining weight on my stomach but when i step on the scales theres no change why is this

It's possible that what you're seeing is actually a lack of muscle tone. If the stomach muscles are weak, then they bulge outward... Since you were anorexic, you likely aren't used to seeing your stomache with food in it. And your muscles aren't used to having to hold much in. Sit ups and stomach muscle exercises will fix that in no time.

Well fat weighs less than muscle so you could be loosing muscle and gaining fat and therefore you would look bigger (since you are gaining fat) but wouldn't actually gain weight yet since your loosing muscle weight.

Or maybe since your body is getting used to eating a lot more food, you've gained a lot of water weight/are bloated and therefore you look bigger but it hasnt quite shown up on the scale.

These are 2 different reasons that I can think of.

It's all perception at this point. Trust the scale. Time is on your side, so don't think that your gut is getting bigger. The scale doesn't lie!!!

because you are losing weight in other places so it balances out
thats all i can think about
