Since her aunt passed away, she has to leave city to attend furneal. She has been out since yesterday and will be back on Sunday.

She have her boyfriend and me stay at her place. Her boyfriend is there to take care of her three dogs and to watch her 6 years old daughter for two or three hours after school when I'm at work. Also she want him there for in case her daughter's father tried to take her way.

Last night, her daughter woke up and cried due to night mare. My friend says this happen often and she'll usually go back to sleep in 15 or 20 mins. So I ignore the sound of her crying. However her crying stop suddenly so I went down to see what is up. I found her room door open, the boyfriend was sit on her daughter's bed rubbing her back. I gave him a dirty look and mouthed "get out" He glare at me and whisper "good night sweetheart" to her before get up and leave to go back to bed.

Today I asked the girl what happened. She says he came in

and hug her, talk to her, kiss her on the head and rubs her back until she fall asleep.

I called my friend and told her about this. She told me I was wrong and to apologize to him. She says he would never do anything wrong and treat her as his own daughter.

They has been going out for about seven months. He have known her daughter for about three or four months. He's 24, my friend is 26.

Is she out of her mind or not?

just let it ride and just talk to both parties involved and let them know how you feel and just keep an eye on the child. your friend knows him better than u so maybe she has already been threw the question stage and feels the guy is ok around her daughter. i really don't think the guy would try anything with the door open and knowing you were there so maybe he just is the fatherly type and was being a loving step parent while mommy was away and doing what she does to get her back to sleep.

You didn't mention if the little girl said he touched her in a bad way. I understand, with all the terrible things going on in the world these days, that you are concerned. However, it just may all be as innocent as your friend says. Do you honestly think that she would let her boyfriend hang around if she got that feeling that moms get, about him. Would she leave her daughter with just anyone? If the answer is yes, stick like glue to the little girl and let her sleep with you. If the answer is no, accept that this little girl looks up to her mothers boyfriend as her protector and is comforted by his presents.

when i first read this, i thought it was definately inappropriate what he did! but then again theres some factors that could affect it. do you know if the daughter shes him as sorta a father figure? 4 months doesnt seem like long enough for a 6 year old to have that sort of relationship. does he live there permanently? or is it just now while your friend is away? is he just a touchy-feely person? or has this never happened before? its kinda hard for me to explain what im trying to say. i still think it wasnt right, but then i understand that there are certain circumstances that could justify it.

When the child cried you should have checked in. Why else were you there? Sounds like he went in to comfort a crying child. If you really feel something happen call the authorities.

You know, not every man in the world is a child molester. The child was crying. He went in there to check on her. THE DOOR WAS OPEN. Stop reading more into the situation than it was.

She seems to be sure about her bf. I dont think she is out of her mind. But if you want to look out for her, then let her decide her life, she seems to do fine to me. Keep an eye on her bf if you want, but nothing seems to be wrong in a situation like so..
