Save up. Set aside a certain amount of money from your paycheck each week and deposit it into a wedding fund. If you have the time, perhaps you can get a small part time job on the weekends or at night. Take all the money you earn for that, and put it into your fund.

it may be a little late but the best idea is to get one of those "rewards" credit cards and pay it off every month. Seriously, everything down to the gas you put into your car. The best kind is the ones that offer airline miles for what you spend because airfare is a killer right now. I wish i would have thought of this when i started planning my wedding, could have saved hundreds. Best wishes.

Parents! Sorry, it's just what we're doing. You can save up. Keep it simple. You can get a loan, forget what people say about how that's not a way to start a life. That's ridiculous! Getting married ins't starting a life, it's continuing life. My lover and I will be in debt over school. Who cares? Just do what makes you happy.

Save up. DO NOT get a loan. You dont want to start your life with someone and have a dept you two have to pay off.

Use your income tax refund to help out.
If you don't have anything saved, a small loan. IMO I would not do this because I do not want to go into a marriage already in debt.

Wisely, try something small. Destination wedding, or a court house wedding with a nice reception.

CASH (written out of your checking accout). Not credit cards, not debit cards, not home equity loans...just plain old fashioned CASH. Now granted, some things you will want to put on a credit card, for convenience sake and also for some more protection, but please, please, please, for your marriage sake, do not go into debt for a wedding you cannot afford. It is not required that you spend $100 a head to have a wonderful dinner, beautiful centerpieces, a $5000 Maggie Sotero gown , etc., etc., etc., to get married. Please set a budget, and stick to it. You'll be glad you did.

Keep the wedding simple. No need to go overboard to make a day to remember.

Well, you and your man should have been saving, and then you should be budgeting accordingly, having the kind of wedding you can afford yourselves.
