I met two guys back in 2001. One of which became a very close friend because we attended college together. The other was visiting from another state. We flirted mildly and spoke a few times over that year. Our mutual friend moved back to the Midwest and me to the West Coast in (2002)
Now they both are living on the East Coast (2006) where we went to school. What was a mild flirtation became talking on the phone for 2-4 hours 4/weeks. The plan was to visit soon but we're both really broke right now. He's getting on his feet and I'm a single parent. It's been about 7 months now. For the past month he rarely called but e-mails and texts all the time.
I really like him..he's smart, funny and we have a similar outlook towards life and relationships. I love that we had all this time to talk without the temptation of intimacy too soon. But I need to see him to know for sure. I have a free ticket. Should I go or do I let him prove himself by coming here? He's been distant lately.

I think you should require he mail you a body part. I mean how else can he really "prove" himself? After all, you don't have nearly the high opinion of yourself you should have. This is it: It takes two to tango. What do you do with your toddler? I find your question bizarre. Do you mean he should pursue you? You can't have it both ways: either he e-mails all the time or he has been distant. Does he know you have a free ticket and how long have you had it? Has he invited you out? Perhaps you should ask him to compete in the next Boston Marathon (on one foot) to prove his suitability. How odd. I guess as an adult you realize that if the relationship advances that one of you will have to move. I guess you're willing to do this for the right guy? How will you determine if someone 2500 miles away is the right guy? What would going out to visit him accomplish other than to determine if he's 350 lbs, married or a total slob? My best advice would be to find a real guy, not a cyberpal. On the other hand, if you two are still hitting it off (sounds like not so much lately & who is getting back on their feet, mom?), and he invites you, why not. What have you got to lose? Be sure he wears a condom. Have a great time.

Hi Bonita, You 2 have something very real going on.I would take the chance,and fly to him. You know you can tell about your emotions better,if you are face to face,and a touch feel thing to see if you love him (not sex) just touching each other,and how you feel towards each other when you do this. I think it is a great ideal. What are you waiting for!! A Friend
