I heard that inmates are used to take orders, for online sales. What would stop them from accessing something else? And I don't want to get in touch with anyone.

Death row inmates, no. They are locked down 23 hours a day. No level 5 IM's have that kind of access. Depending on the state some of the facilities law libraries have computers that the IM's have internet access to. But that is usually minimum to medium security. The prisons network system controls what they can access and they are constantly monitored.

It depends on what state they are in, and what level prison. In Missouri, a level 5 is high security and they do not have internet access, although they do have friends on the outside that can look things up for them. They cannot receive IMs because of security reasons. You can call the state where the person is incarcerated and ask them what their policy is, although the prisoner knows and could tell you. They receive copies of all the rules. In Missouri, they can have a word processor, but not a laptop.

Not that I could imagine. You could always check with a prison in or near your State for information on that subject. But I would highly doubt any death row inmates having such access.

No they don’t but sometimes they might know someone on the outside who will set them up a webpage like a my space account or something. They will communicate though this person to put stuff up on the site. No they cant have a laptop there being punished they’d be lucky to get out of their small cells for an hour or two a day.

Death row prisoners in California can have a TV receiving over the airwaves broadcasts. At age 65, Rodney Alcala will be long dead from natural causes before he gets anywhere close to being executed.
