There were millions of us in the U.S. that disagreed with us going into Iraq before the war started. There were tens of thousands who protested against it at the very beginning, but the media didn't cover it much (actually downplayed it). Between the president, congress and the media the war drums were beating so hard no one paid attention to those of us who were against it (remember "freedom fries"? looks as if the French were right about Iraq, eh??!!) And yes, it is our constitutional right to protest anything we want to protest.
I want our military to get out of there, but before we do, our government needs to open up the communication lines with Iran and Syria and STOP being so bellicose with these countries. I hate to think what the future holds if our government continues on the present course.

Americans were intentionally misinformed about the alleged WMD and the supposed threat of Iraq. We were also misled about Iraq's involvement in 9/11. The government lied to us and we bought it.
Today, four years into the occupation, it is well known that the war is a fraud. There were no WMD -- the weapons inspectors were correct. Iraq was not involved in 9/11 and was never a threat to the U.S. On the other hand Iraq is under U.S. military occupation even though Bush promised there would be no occupation. Everything the administration has said about this war has been a lie. And now they want to escalate.
Under these circumstances do we have the right to protest? I think so.

Of course we have to finish what we started. For one, the main and probably only reason we're even in Iraq is for oil. Democracy just isn't gonna work for Iraq. Look at when Saddam Hussein was overthrown. The entire country went into chaos in civil war. The truth is despite the protests of the Iraqi people, they are used to the system of dictatorship. No civil wars did happen under Hussein, now, did there? Giving Iraqis the freedom (as we are now) is a glimpse into what will happen if Iraq actually adopts democracy- chaos. We as the US have a moral obligation to clean up this mess; we never should have made it in the first place. The real war that matters to us is the War in Afghanistan, which is the one ACTUALLY against terrorism. As to your question, if you actually do want an answer, yes. The First Amendment of the Constitution guarantees freedom of expression.

We have every right to protest the war. The American people did NOT want war with Iraq, we wanted Osama Bin Laden, which we STILL don't have. Our president wanted war with Iraq. Miscommunications about non-existent WMD was the scapegoat, though a lot of us believe it was more than that. It was a huge mistake, has continued to be a huge mistake, and is not going to suddenly become alright, no matter how long we stay over there.
Oh, and don't anyone start on the not supporting the troops thing. That's just bull. I'm ex-military myself and I don't believe we should have gone over in the first place, but that does not mean that I don't care for the troops.

"Or should the US just leave, like losers, and essentially plunge Iraq and the entire Middle East (and hence, eventually the world) into chaos" how the hell do you draw the line from iraq to the entire world!? you need some adjustment to your logical reasoning skills. also be sure you clear up your personal definition of "right vs responsibility", as they are not the same thing.
anyway time for LOGICAL reasoning. people have the right to change their minds here; nice place, america. the troops CAN NOT be recalled all at once. it would cause chaos there (but not the whole world). a gradual reduction in forces is the logical choice.

We have the right to protest anything we want to protest.
The fact is the vast majority of Americans were not in favor of the war. We have the right to leave Iraq then Nuke it out of existence if we choose to do so. Americans are fed up with supporting the rest of the world's lazy azzes. Americans are fed up with trying to fix the chaos and bull crap everyone else is creating. I don't know where you are from but in America we can do pretty much what ever we want to do whether the rest of the world likes it or not so put that in your crack pipes and smoke it.

earlier I answer, enable me astounding you on one aspect. opposite to lefty idealism, there have been certainly WMD's which stated lefties conveniently want to ignore that their ilk (the Dems) in authorities also believed existed. no longer stated via dicey difficulty surrounding US/Russia kinfolk individuals become the incontrovertible actuality that Iraq stocks a lengthy border with Syria and had a comfy relationship going, in which stated WMD's does no longer were puzzling to spirit away earlier to the ousting of the only guy widely used to have used them. Now, i recognize that contained in the perfect little international of liberalism the denizens are allowed to imagine in a vacuum at the same time as searching at with the help of a ingesting straw, you may ask what the hell does that were given to do with issues. properly, no longer some thing formally yet i have been round lengthy sufficient to do not ignore that WMD's do not %. and choose the position they are saved. at the same time as i'm at it, there is yet another aspect that needs correcting. those farmers who were killed in Vietnam were squaddies. certain they did not placed on uniforms and honestly farmed and had households yet they were very a lot in touch contained in the attempt to protect their usa. i recognize that concept is alien to lefties yet carry with me. you spot, merely because maps coach a border isolating North from South Vietnam, it would not recommend that the human eye can distinguish that are South and that are North. Many an American soldier become both killed or completely disabled because they weren't able to make out the huge difference (or have any reason to) and were sucker-punched in case you'll. seem up references to little Vietnamese children advised to run as a lot as that American soldier with a stay grenade. very last, yet no longer least, international heritage has shown all with the help of the a lengthy time period that once there is conflict there are civilian casualties. that is why I wrestle liberalism right here contained in the States because in case you had your way, the hammer and sickle might want to be waving contained in the Washington air. i'm sorry your innovations has been poisoned by technique of liberalism.

We didn't start this mess. We don't condone terrorism and we don't harbor terrorists. Yes we do have a right to protest the war. We are a free country and we would like for Iraq to be a free country also.

The US should stay in Iraq, but not for the reason you gave. It should stay for its own self-interest in keeping al Qaeda types from taking over part or all of the country to work up more schemes with which to bedevil the US.

Of course they do. Anyone, regardless of the country they reside in, has the right to protest war. And yes, the US gov't should leave and just admit they made a big mistake and all those people died for nothing.
