I am a PTI in the Army, you will hate me when you realize my job.
You need to get out and run at least twice a day and do 2 sessions a day of press ups and sit ups. Make sure that when you do Press ups, you get your triceps parallel to the ground and fully lock out your arms when coming back up with a straight back. You have 2min to comple 45 so try and complete 60 because they will try their hardest to knock you down. Make sure your sit ups are correctly performed, ensuring your shoulder blades touch the ground each time before sitting up fully so your neck is inline with the base of your spine. You need to complete 50 sit ups in 2mins. Aim to complete 70 so if they take any off you still have plenty to pass.
You also need to complete a run of 2.4km (1.5mile) in under 10:30. But that is the minimum and you will need to be quicker to stand out. There is more test including carrying weight so get out with a big day sack or bergan with 25kg in and practise walking around with it. You dont have to practise the 8mile and 12mile tests, just to the shops and back or other places. After you been for a run and done press ups and sit ups, rest and take on plenty of fluids, then weight on your back and go for a walk.
The training will be intense and being prepared is most the battle won!

miltary.com has a nice little workout program. They also have this 21-day program where they send u emails to help u prepare for the educational portion of basic (ranks, etc.). Try that site and the Marines site for the PT standards.

Just focus on decent cardio--I was an avid skateboarder before I went to basic for the Army (in 1993) and I didn't do any other kind of working out. I caught up in areas where I was deficient (sit-ups) and ended up with high PT for my platoon--trust me, no matter how good of shape you are in, they will smoke you with some PT. Best of luck in the Corps. Semper Fi.

You need to find out the phyical fitness standards. I would concentrated on running, situp, pushup, builing upperbody strength.
You will be doing lots or running so if your not in shape you better start getting there, Diont wait or they will run you in the ground.
Start perfecting your pushup straight back elbows total bent.
Add more each night, same on the run do more every day until you go. The better shape your in the better off you're be.
Thank you for serving stay safe.

Running, crunches, pull-ups, stretches, push ups, lunges.
Look up an exercise called "build a house" where you have your arms strait, hands on the ground, legs strait, with your feet as close to your hands as you can get.
Do push-ups with your hands forming a diamond(thumbs and forefingers touching)
practice dropping to the ground and getting up again, fast. You'll do that alot

Your recruiter should have given you a handbook when you signed up. If not you can get one. The physical parts are important but there is also quite a few things you should memorize.
