Growing up without a dad is a painful ordeal. You get to see other kids make Father's day presents and have a dad to give it to. Why would anyone want to grow up without a father. (unless he's abusive or something).

Well there is no fighting between parents. My parents seperated when I was 4. He would visit once a month and they would bicker and he would leave. I loved him but I was happy to see him leave so my mom wouldnt be so sad or mad. My kids see the same thing. I'm always arguing with their father. Now we are going through a divorce and they are happy to have the fighting out of the house.
As far as NOT having a father, I dont know how that is. That's a whole different situation. I think I would feel a void if I didnt have one.

well in our home it meant a mother who was out partying three nights a week.
it meant the other four nights she was home, she was sad and angry and blamed you for everything.
it meant so many 'uncles' that we lost track.
it meant as you got older you understood the names the neighbors called your mother.
it meant that it was your fault there was no dad, cause if you hadn't been so cheeky and noisy he wouldn't have left.
it meant moving a million times a year to avoid bill collectors.
it meant that father-daughter dances were out.
it meant there was no one to take your side when you were in trouble.
it meant that when your mother died you were truly alone and there was no one to love you.
it meant there was no dad to walk you down the aisle when you got married.
it meant that there was only one set of grandparents for your child
it meant a great deal, and i wish that all the parents out there considering divorce would consider trying to make their marriages work for the sake of their little ones.
it meant so much that i hope anyone considering having a child out of wedlock and with no strong male support in her life will reconsider.
god bless and good luck
